Is the data security copy made automatically by the system?
The iBard24 program performs the function of your personal electronic box, in which you can easily save data and store it in a safe way. After the installation and registration process it is possible to configure the iBard24 Backup Online service. Files and folders which need protection can be:
- Copied to iBard24 – this operation causes the creation of a security copy on the external disk,
- Added to the backup – resulting in the file/folder being sent to the iBard24 disk, each change in the folder’s content or file edition is synchronized with the data sent to iBard24.
Security copies are created so easily and quickly that you don’t even notice it while working on the computer. You only need to choose the files to make a security copy of once – the rest is done by the program. Security copies are updated while working with the files. For example, if you save a new picture in the catalogue ‘My pictures’, the program will make a security copy immediately.
Is iBard24 Backup Online safe?
The security copy creation in the iBard24 system is absolutely safe. The data is sent through a coded 128-bit SSL connection (the same coding used for bank web sites).
The data is stored in the secure Comarch Data Center. Its well-established position in the field of security solutions is the result of long-term investments in expert staff and extensive knowledge of new technologies. Thanks to the permanent improvement and development from the Quality Management System, the Comarch Data Center has the certificates of the Integrated Management System, which is consistent with: EN-ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management Systems, EN-ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management Systems, PN-N 18001:2004 Occupational Safety and Health Management Systems, ISO/IEC 27001:2005 Information Security Management Systems, PN-N 19001:2006 Requirements of Internal Compliance Program (ICP). The certificate was issued by the Polish Centre for Testing and Certification (PCBC).
What is file versioning?
Versioning allows you to recover previously saved versions of files. This functionality is especially useful when unwanted changes are made to our resources. After selecting the option "Enable versioning" for the individual file (available in the file context menu), you can easily restore previous versions of the copied or synchronized files ("Previous versions" option in the context menu). Accounts for individual users allow for storage of up to 5 previous versions of the file and corporate accounts allow you to store up to 20 versions.
Is the data in iBard24 Backup Online encrypted?
iBard24 Backup Online enables the encryption of stored data with the AES-256 bit algorithm. The data is encrypted on the user’s computer with a previously generated encryption key.
AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) is a symmetrical cipher block approved as a standard by the American National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The security in this algorithm is based on the secrecy of the encryption key, which is a series of bits with a defined length and is used to encrypt and decrypt the data.
Warning: If you encrypt multimedia files (e.g. .mp3, .jpg), you cannot play them with the applications available on the iBard24 Web site (photo gallery, .mp3 player)
How is the encryption key generated?
The encryption key can be generated in the iBard24 Backup Online application, which is installed on the user’s computer. To generate the key go to Settings > Security.
Warning: If you lose the encryption key, the data secured by the key will be irretrievably lost. iComarch24 SA does not store encryption keys generated by iBard24 system users, that is why the key should be stored in a safe place by the user.
How can I get to my files?
There are two possibilities for accessing the security copies stored on the iBard24 Backup Online disk:
- The application installed on the user’s computer. The virtual disk is created automatically and is visible in the folder ‘My computer’. You can also see the disk’s content by clicking the ‘iBard24 disk’ button in the program agent or by clicking the icon created on the desktop after the program installation.
- Through any web browser. By logging into the www.iBard24.pl web site you gain access to the data security copy and the possibility of restoring the data – to any place and at any time. This is very useful if you have a computer at home and you want to have access to the same files both at home and at work, without needing to send them or carry them in a physical medium.
Can I log in from several computers on a single account?
iBard24 Backup Online allows you to login from several computers to one account (5 computers in the case of accounts for individual users, 20 computers in the case of accounts for companies) with one username and password. This is an ideal solution when you want to work on the same data at both work and home and when you want to protect files from multiple computers in a company on one iBard24 account. This makes iBard24 an ideal tool for business security and data exchange in a small or medium company.
What possibilities does a backup schedule provide?
The Backup Scheduler allows you to determine on which days of the week the files will be added to the backup to be synchronized. With the "Advanced" option in the schedule you can also create schedule profiles and filter profiles. A profile schedule is used to determine not only the days of the week in which the backup will be executed, but also enables the identification of a specific time for starting the synchronization process. In the filter profile you can indicate the types of files (by specifying their extension e.g. *. jpg, *. doc), which should be added to or removed from the synchronization process. In the filter profile you can also set attributes such as hidden files or system file filtering. There is also the option of filtering Internet Explorer temporary files. With the "Tasks" option we can assign the appropriate schedule profiles and filter profiles for each file added to the synchronization.
Can I share my files with other network users?
If you want to save all the changes in the documents from different computers at the same time and need to share files and catalogues with other users, the sharing function is a solution! File sharing can be realized in two ways:
- Through the Internet application. After logging into the www.iBard24.pl web site you need to enter the File Manager and then click the right mouse button on the chosen file or folder.
The next step is to choose the users with whom you want to share your resources with. You need to specify the access rights for the files that will be used by other users (read-only or read and write).
- Through the iBard24 client installed on the disk. The second way to share resources is by using the iBard24 application installed on the computer. Click the right mouse button on the chosen file or catalogue and then choose the bar ‘Sharing’. The next step is the same as in the case of the Internet application – the choice of users.
The last step is specifying access rights for the users with whom resources will be shared with: read-only or read and write.
How can I find my files?
Thanks to the search function iBard24 allows you to find the data you require quickly. It also enables the restoration of data from a virtual disk to a personal computer.
How can I manage my data?
Manage your collection of security copies. Manage the scheduling and layout of files, as well as the manner of they are displayed while working in any web browser.
Can I play my multimedia files on the website?
The iBard24 Backup Online Internet application offers the possibility of browsing pictures in an innovative gallery, in which apart from the standard functions such as viewing pictures or slideshows you can also create snapshot dumps of the selected part of the screen. In the iBard24 File Manager you can also listen to music (mp3 format) without needing to install additional tools.
What is the system of comments?
Everyone sometimes needs to share data with others, for example when working on a common project or when we want to share our impressions from the holidays with our family. iBard24 Backup Online makes it possible to comment on shared resources (photos, multimedia files and other files). To see or add a note, right-click on the file you want to comment on and then click on Comments.

Can iBard24 act as a Windows service?
iBard24 Online Backup runs as a Windows service performed in the background in the Windows environment and requires no interaction with the user. iBard24 as a service responsible for backup begins running when the operating system is launched and works as long as the system is opened.
This functionality – particularly useful for server platforms – is dedicated exclusively to businesses. It consists of running two processes: first – a service that runs in the background and second – the GUI.
- The first process – the Windows service – starts along with the system startup. With this functionality iBard24 starts backup of important data at the same time the system is opened, logging in to the application is not required.
- The second process – GUI – is responsible for user communication with the application: adding tasks for backup/copy, the definition of a task schedule, virtual disk management and profile management etc.
Can I configure the proxy settings?
iBard24 Backup Online enables changes to the proxy server settings. You can configure the settings in the log-in panel by clicking the ‘Proxy settings’ button.
